Community Crossroads, a private not-for-profit agency, provides services and support to people who have developmental disabilities or acquired brain disorders. We work with local businesses to find employment opportunities, provide homes and other living arrangements, and we partner with local school systems to ensure each person receives the highest quality educational experience.
What does it take to live a good life? Community Crossroads works together with individuals and their families to help individuals reach their goals and live the good life. Read our collection of some of many examples about how people are doing just that!
We would love to highlight your success story, too! If you have something to share, contact Dee Johnson, or any member of the Community Crossroads team!

Paul works at Dodge Grain in Salem and has been a staple there for about 10 years. Paul's main duties include stocking the store from the warehouse. He checks the different birdseeds in the store, gets a count for what is needed, then gathers up the supplies from the warehouse. It requires a lot of strength to load the cart with the various types of feed and seeds and get them into the store.
Paul feels a sense of accomplishment when he is done at the end of each day. He can immediately see the impact of his work when he walkes through the store and the shelves are filled with product.
You can see Paul every morning at Dodge Grain, Monday through Friday, dilligently working at his job.

The Developmental Disabilities Quality Council was asked by the department to produce contract language that we would like to be included for Step 2 Phase 3. While the QC maintains a unanimous position of being against commercial managed care, we saw an opportunity to share the recommendations of individuals, families and other stakeholders. After working for about 10 months on this document, it was presented to Commissioner Nick Toumpas and his staff January 25th and is now being made public. Click here to review this document. Please contact Sarah Aiken at CSNI with questions.
